Admission Requirements

  • Complete an online application.
  • Pay the $65 application fee.
  • An official transcript(s) in English (or translated to English) of all previous colleges attended. The transcript must indicate an earned bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university or equivalent.
  • Applicants have earned a minimum GPA (overall) of 3.0 from a college or university in the United States; including a minimum 3.0 GPA in their undergraduate accounting courses.
  • Applicants without an undergraduate degree in accounting will be expected to earn a 3.0 GPA in their accounting leveling course before taking more than 6 hours of graduate work.
  • Two letters of recommendation (may be submitted through the online application).
  • A satisfactory GMAT score (generally a 50th percentile or better) may be required of any student who applies to the MAcc program and who has not completed 24 or more semester hours at ACU with a minimum GPA of 3.00; [this requirement is waived for applicants with a minimum GPA of 3.5].
  • A written personal statement of academic interests, strengths and weaknesses.

Academic Accreditation

ACU is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award associate, baccalaureate, master’s and doctoral degrees. SACSCOC is required by the federal government to monitor compliance with the substantive change policy and to approve any major changes. Substantive change is a federal term for any “significant modification of the nature and scope of an accredited institution.” ACU has adopted a Substantive Change Policy, which outlines its internal procedure related to ACU’s compliance with substantive change requirements.
